Vogue Knitting Holiday 2008 is on the newsstands!
I don’t carry it, so I had to buy it from my friendly LYS….immediately I see there are some gorgeous things I’d like to kit on the website. Vogue is VOGUE. It is what it is. It’s the latest fads, styles, what have you. Not as close to “timeless” as “Interweave Knits” may be. If you are in the industry and/or an avid knitter, you must purchase every Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits that’s published, and hang on to them! FOREVER. That Loop Trim Jacket is a bit much for me, but it so happens I carry that yarn. I’d have to say, without a doubt, that the Brandon Mably Animal Print Jacket (#24) is the most classic and wearable design in this issue as far as this gal goes. I prefer garments that will stand the test of time, and I think this one will. PLUS, it looks like it’s fun to knit! I know at least 3 people who will want this!

Yummy Twisted Sisters Kimono!!! Yeah!!!!
I’m so excited!
I’ve got a project coming from some really cool chicks…the Twisted Sisters. No, they’re not really sisters, they’re “just twisted.” They need their “Knot the Point” kimono reknitted ’cause the one they have is kind of worn out from travelling everywhere, to every show they attend (people try them on, fondle them, etc., etc., etc.). And believe me, they are some busy girls!

Ooo la laa…bonjour mon cher! French Girl update!
Hello again! Time for the weekly scoop.
I got in some French Girl patterns that I didn’t have previously, and have kitted/put them up on the website. Here is one of them!
This one is for knitters. It’s kitted with Rowan Big Wool and comes in a huge range of sizes, 29″-41.5″ bust. Worked in size US 17 needles, it takes NO TIME to knit!
Here is one for the crocheters below right. The sizes for Fawne range from 31.5″ bust to 43.5″ bust. Mon ami Kristeen is very thoughtful when she writes her patterns! Other kits/patterns added are Ghislaine and Fifi, too. Fifi is very popular on Ravelry!
I’ve also updated the Classic Elite La Gran page. I’ve added new colors and dropped some old ones. This yarn is a classic and promises to be around forever! Make sure you check out the free pattern from Classic Elite for some “Warm and Fuzzy” mittens. This yarn has 49 colours and has held its price FOREVER.
That’s all for today my little pretties….
Don’t forget about the sale! Read the entry below from last week.

More kits on the website! and a SALE!
I’ve been a busy little bee on the website this week. I’ve added more kits from Rowan Magazine 44. Click on the images to be taken to the kit pages:
The trailer of the caravan is complete. The rain this week hampered my progress. Next I will install the original wheel wells and waterproof them. After that, I will build the plywood covers that go over them (these will extend into the inside of the caravan, so they are very important). Then I think I’ll be ready to slide the trailer back under the caravan “cab.” The bottom structure of the caravan isn’t sound so it can’t yet SIT on the trailer. I must buy more lumber!
Rhodes College homecoming was last weekend. It was a LOT of fun! We had DB’s sister, brother-in-law, and nieces here. We got to have the girls for a while. I made sgets (that’s spaghetti, to you). We went to a great concert (Incendio) at the shell, which reopened this Summer. After that was ICE CREAM. [No, ice cream is NOT on the "Slim Forever the French Way" eating plan. I had some anyway. I decided when I was going to do this that I wasn't going to be a wet blanket.] I feel like we didn’t get to spend enough time with any of the dear relatives. However, there is a huge get-together in Idaho the end of this month, which promises to be even more fun, because almost everyone in the fDB family will be there! There are so many family members spread out all over the country, it’s kind of hard to get them together in the same place at the same time. IT WILL BE A GOOD THING. Of course, I must KNIT FASTER if I want to have something handknitted to wear every day. I don’t know what we have planned yet for that weekend, but I’ve got several more weekends before that to worry about. I understand we’re staying in a cool bed and breakfast where they will be having a “halloween” wedding. I can’t wait to see that!
I’ve decided to put Nashua Wooly Stripes on sale ’cause it ain’t moving! It’s now 20% off. Here’s the linkee! Only the colors with “buy” buttons are available, and it’s first come, first served. This yarn felts GREAT! Ahh the benefits of reading ye olde blog. I’m going to go ahead and include Nashua Creative Focus Chunky and Worsted in the sale. They’re not moving, either.
Have a great weekend, hunker down at home (cheaply and safely), don’t go out, and knit!

Oh, the cool (knitting) weather….
OK, so 74 degrees isn’t all that cool, but for Memphis, it IS! It’s not as if I don’t think about knitting enough, I need the weather to make it worse? I’ve been up since 5:30 this morning working on something for Norah Gaughan’s Volume 4 Spring 2009 Berroco book. It’s gorgeous! (of course) The funds from the model/test knitting will go to the caravan materials for now. The savings account will have to be put on hold until I get the caravan dried in (in the construction business that means getting it to a point where no water comes in). After that, I must store away my little acorns for retirement.
We got the “the economy is really bad” talk at work today. For the first time since I’ve been here (4 yrs. and 7 months), we had an office meeting that I was present for (that’s ’cause I don’t work here on Fridays). We were told about the meeting yesterday before we left for the day, hence, not a full night’s rest for me last night. On top of that I had to get up to do my knitting work. I have lovely matching GREY baggage today to go along with my grey yarn binge of late.
I’ve added a couple more Debbie Bliss Magazine kits to the website. I’ve also updated the Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Kid Mohair, Rare Comfort Infusion Kid Mohair, and the Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran pages to reflect new inventory and discontinued colors.
Stare at that for a while!
I just now added the new addi Clicks to the website. They’re only $149.95, which is really great for what you’re getting. They come in a case, and carry the famous Addi lifetime guarantee. Remember to put them on your wishlist. I’m going to!
I just added the new SKIF pattern, CAT. I only have 5 in stock for now, so get on it girls! This sweater is worked from the bottom of the front up and continues over and down the back. The body is purl side facing out and the sleeves are knit side out. Here’s what she looks like:
